CHAMPAGNE AND TAXES
As promised, despite not winning a Grammy Award today, I still celebrated with some distanced champagne shared with a couple of dear friends this afternoon. It’s such a thrill to be nominated for the Grammys, and I do hope it will happen again. In the meantime, all the best to this year’s winners. What a thrill to see so many friends and colleagues take home trophies and have their work recognized in this special way.
After the Grammys, it is basically the sublime to the ridiculous. As soon as I am done with this post, my plan is to sit down to do my taxes. Normally, I take some pleasure out of this mundane (and unnecessarily complicated) task, as it affords a chance to walk down the memory lane of the last year. I don’t know that I relish that aspect of it this year…but perhaps I will be surprised.
Keeping this one short. It’s been a day, and there is still lots to do.
Thanks to all who were so supportive today. Feeling very lucky and very much a winner, with or without any statues.
